The Macallan Rare Cask Black is a peated Highland single malt Scotch, distilled from less than 100 unique casks, mostly 1st fill ex-sherry European oak casks, dating back to 1980. Launched in 2015 as a travel retail-only release from their 1824 Masters Series, this highly-prized Scotch whisky is the only one of its kind from this distillery and is never to be produced again. It features aromatic notes of smoke, spice, pepparkakor, and figs, with a layer of sweet Demerara sugar, peat, and wet earth seasoned with ginger.
