The Balvenie 2021 The Creation Of A Classic Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a tribute to David C. Stewart’s innovative cask-finished single malt method, which was first introduced in the 1980s. The Balvenie Classic, launched in 1983, was the first cask-finished single malt. The 2021 release pays tribute to this method, matured first in American oak and finished in carefully curated Oloroso sherry casks. The nose opens with vanilla, ginger, herbs, and cloves, followed by a complex palate of syrup, sweet toffee candies, and simmering oatmeal seasoned with spice.
