Description
Suntory’s Hakushu distillery in Mt. Kaikomagatake, Japan, produces a 12 year old single malt whiskey called Suntory The Hakushu. The whiskey has a simple yet enjoyable aroma, reminiscent of spring water, dewy fern fronds, and darkly leafed trees. It features toasted barley tendrils, nuts, cereal grain loaf, chopped almonds, char, melted milk chocolate, and sundried grass.
The taste is enrobed in fruit, but the whiskey also whispers greenery, earthen grass bites, and campfire smoke. The final taste is bright orange zest and rock-hewn minerals, showcasing the unique flavors of Mt. Kaikomagatake.
