Bourbon Vaults

Japanese whiskey is a relatively new addition to the whiskey world and has quickly become a connoisseur’s favorite. While much of the expertise may have originally been imported from Scotland, the category is anything but imitation – Japanese whiskey is produced in multiple locations across the country, each with its own climate and water sources, and even those that use original Japanese mizunara oak.
Although firmly rooted in Scottish production techniques and processes, Japanese whiskey has become a wonderful and wonderful spirit in its own right. In fact, many whiskey experts consider Japan to be home to some of the best whiskeys in the world.

The Japanese Whiskey Style
Despite having significantly fewer distilleries than Scotland, Japan has a truly remarkable variety. in style and taste here. Whiskey can range from the legendary award-winning Yamazaki malts to Yoichi, known for its slightly peaty, even beach whiskeys. Each distillery presents something completely unique. For example, Hakushu, nestled among the forests of the Japanese Alps, produces whiskey with a distinctly herbal, slightly smoky character, while Chichibu, a relatively young distillery, has won praise for its innovative production techniques and sweet fruity spirit.
