The Macallan estate, built in 1700, is located in a natural beauty area and uses the smallest spirit stills on Speyside, contributing to its rich, fruity ‘new make’ spirit. The distillery spends more time on sourcing, building, and caring for its casks than any other. The Spanish sherry seasoned oak casks produce chocolate, dried fruits, and spices, while the American sherry seasoned oak casks provide sweet citrus, light spice, vanilla, and light oak.
