Description
Hibiki Blender’s Choice, a controversial Japanese whisky, was a result of Japan’s largest whisky producers, including Suntory, discontinuing age-statement mainstream products and replacing them with non-age-statement (NAS) versions. This trend has been repeated with major Japanese single malts like Yamazaki and Yoichi. Rumors began in 2018 that Hibiki 17 would be the next age-statement Japanese whisky to be discontinued, and a “premium-grade” NAS version of Hibiki, dubbed Blender’s Choice, was also rumored.
However, there was no formal announcement of the release of Hibiki Blender’s Choice to the general public, as it is only sold through Suntory’s wholesale/industry channels in Japan. Despite its popularity in Tokyo bars, it is not available on store shelves.
